Hi everyone,
For those of you who are new to the mailing list, welcome! My name is Andrew LiVecchi. I’m an author of epic fantasy stories inspired by a lifelong obsession with ancient and medieval history.
In my last announcement, I revealed the cover art for my upcoming debut novella, Son of the Thunder Goddess (wishlist or preorder the ebook here). This is the first in a series called The Lays of Athewain and will follow the adventures of the warrior Athewain as he traverses the deadly, treacherous lands of Logren in a setting heavily inspired by Celtic Britain.
In this post, I’m going to share how you can get your hands on an early digital copy of Son of the Thunder Goddess and support the book launch on March 5, 2025. Below you’ll find the link to a form where you can enter your contact info and receive your ARC (advanced reader copy):
Once you’ve completed this form, I’ll send you a digital ARC which you can read on your e-reader, phone, computer, tablet, or whatever other device you use to read. After you get your ARC, there are two main ways you can support the book launch. The first is by purchasing a copy of the book on launch day (March 5, 2025) either in print ($12.99 USD/CAD) or digital ($2.99 USD/CAD). The second way you can support the launch is by leaving an honest review on Amazon or Goodreads on or directly after launch day.
Of course, it’s most helpful if you are able to purchase the book and leave a review. But if money is tight, leaving a review is still an incredible way to boost the book’s visibility on Amazon and gain momentum in that first critical week after launch. And if you don’t feel like writing a review, purchasing the book directly through Amazon helps by telling the algorithm to show it to more readers.
Other News: Substack Rebrand!
As you may have noticed, I’ve rebranded this newsletter as The Mead Hall. Since starting out on Substack, I’ve experimented with a few different models for the kinds of posts I want to write and with fitting publication titles. With The Mead Hall, I’ve finally settled on a format and title that suit me and that should hopefully provide you, the reader, with the kind of content you are interested in receiving in your inbox. Going forward, I will continue to share important news about my books as well as opportunities like signups for ARCs. And, less frequently, I will also be sharing longer articles based on my literary and historical interests, interests that tie in directly to the subjects and themes I write about in my fiction.
Thanks for reading,
Andrew LiVecchi
I've actually really enjoyed your longer posts about the background to your writing, its what appealed to me when I discovered you and has me still hanging around. I know you have to promote your books, and its a bit like a voice trying to be heard in a market place where you are not seen unless you can shout louder than everyone else. From the look of the number of so-called epic books out there, its a genre with a lot of life still in it, and I'm looking forward to a good read come March.
