Upcoming author events this summer
And my recent appearance at the Brantford Fantasy Market
Andrew LiVecchi is an author of epic fantasy inspired by a lifelong obsession with ancient and medieval history, mythology, and classic literature. His novella, Son of the Thunder Goddess, is available for purchase at Amazon.
Last week, I had my very first author event at the Fantasy Market in Brantford, Ontario, a smallish city half an hour from where I live in Cambridge (also a smallish city). It was my first time running an author table, and I went in with pretty low expectations, especially because I have just the one book to sell.
But I’m happy to report that it was a great experience. I got to chat with lots of fantasy readers, other local authors, and even managed to sell and sign several copies. It was a lot of fun and way more personal than selling online. I am planning to make in-person events a regular part of my schedule.
I know the majority of my subscribers are not local, so I’m keeping this post nice and short. But for anyone who lives in Southern Ontario and would like to attend one of these in-person events, I’d love to see you there.
You’ll find the itinerary below.
May 24: Fantasy Market in Brantford, Ontario (10:30 am - 4:00 pm)
May 31: Bookfest at the Waterloo Public Square in Waterloo, Ontario (2:00-8:00 pm)
June 14: Local Author Event at Indigo Books in Cambridge, Ontario (11:00 am - 4:00 pm)
July 19: Author signing event at Indigo Books in Cambridge (time TBD)
And here are a couple of pictures of my author table, shared with fellow local fantasy author Frank Nemeth. My little pen-bearing knight (a.k.a. Uther Pendragon) was a big hit with the market-goers.
That’s all for now. I’m working on a post about my top recommendations for medieval books, so you can expect that in your inbox over the next week or so.
Thanks for reading,
Andrew LiVecchi
